For over 30 years, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection has been dedicated to the safety of all children. Their goal is to reduce child victimization by providing programs and services to Canadians. They do this through public awareness activities, personal safety education programs and the national tip line to report online sexual abuse of children (Cybertip.ca).

eMail account configuration for clients with eagle.ca addresses

 

To Add an account in an iPhone or iPad

  • Tap the home button to get to your Home screen
  • Find the Settings icon and tap it
  • In Settings scroll to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars icon and tap it
  • Tap the Add Account icon
  • Tap Other for the account type
  • Choose Add Mail Account
  • Enter your name, your e-mail address, e-mail password and a description of the account. Tap Next
  • Your device will try to confirm the account information then take you to the New Account screen
  • .

     In the New Account Screen, tap the POP button near the top and enter the following:

  •  Under Incoming Mail Server
  •  - Host Name - pop3.eagle.ca

     - Username: Your full eagle.ca email address

     - Password - Your eagle.ca email password

  •  Under Outgoing Mail Server
  •   - Host Name: smtp.eagle.ca

      - Username: Your full eagle.ca email address

      - Password: Your eagle.ca email password

  • Tap Save at the top of the screen.
  • Your iPhone will now try to "Verify" the account. This could take several minutes.

    If you get a message that says "Cannot connect using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?" choose Yes.

    If you get a "Secured Connection Failed/Cannot Verify Server Identity" message, tap the Continue button and wait a moment.

  • At the Accounts screen tap the newly created account.
  • Scroll down to the Outgoing Mail Server section and tap on SMTP. Under Primary server you should see smtp.eagle.ca listed. Tap smtp.eagle.ca and verify the following:
  •  - Host Name: smtp.eagle.ca

     - Username: Your e-mail address

     - Password: will be hidden

     - Use SSL: Tap to turn ON (it will be green when on)

    - Authentication: Password

    - Server Port: 465

  • Tap Done (upper right corner) and then tap on the account description in the upper left corner.
  • Tap the Advanced button at the bottom of the page and set the following:

    - Remove: Never

    - Use SSL: ON

    - Authentication: Password

    - Delete from server: Never

    - Server Port 995

  • Tap on the account description (upper left) or tap Done and your new account has now been setup. You can access this account by tapping the Mail button from the home screen and choosing this account.
