Used to join two lines together, fireline to lead core, flea flicker to mono, super lines to mono.
Lay the two lines side by side with twelve inches overlapping. Form a Uni knot type of circle on the first line.

double uni knot

Wrap the first line around the second seven to ten times, through the loop of course. Wrap around the line less for heavier lines.

uni knot

Pull the tag to engage enough tension to close and hold the wraps in place, not too tight.

fishing uni knot

Create another Uni knot on the second line, just like before.

uni knot

Pull the main lines apart to butt the knots against one another. To tighten harder, pull the tag ends firmly. Clip as you like.

palomar fishing knot

Recommended by Berkley Fire Line. Double about 4" of line and pass the loop
through the eye of fishing hook.

palomar knot

Let the fishing hook hang loose, and tie an overhand knot in the doubled line.

Avoid twisting the lines and do not tighten.

Palomar fishing knot

Pull the loop end of the line far enough to pass it over the hook.

Make sure the loop passes completely over the attachment.

palomar knot

Pull both the tag end and the standing line until the knot is tightened.

Snell knot

Insert one end of the line through the hook's eye extending one to two inches past the eye. Insert the other end of the line through the eye in the opposite direction pointing toward the barb.
Hold the hook and line ends between thumb and forefinger of your left hand. Line will hang below the hook in a large loop.

snell fishing knot

Take the part of this loop that is closest to the eye and wrap it over the hook and shank and both ends of the line towards the hook's barb. Wrap for seven or eight turns and hold wraps with your left hand. Grip the end of line that is through the eyelet with your right hand and pull it slowly . Hold the turns with your left hand or the knot will unravel.

snell fishing knots

When the knot is almost tight, slide it up against the eye of the hook. Grip the short end lying along the shank of the hook with a pair of pliers.
Pull this end and the standing line at the same time to completely tighten the knot and trim.
