100 Mile Diet Event For 2011 |

St. Andrew's United Church, Grafton hosted
our 5th 100-Mile Diet Event on September 9 from 12 to 4 p.m. at
Grafton Arena. Our Mission Statement for this event is:
“To encourage & showcase local products produced
on the land Why should we support local producers? Why should we shop locally? Where does your food come from? How is it prepared? What is in your food? This is your opportunity to have these questions answered. Shop & meet your local farmers (listed below). Sample their foods. Ask questions about their products. |

preparation of simple dishes using the food available that day
gives you a chance to learn new recipes and techniques. |

will be a children's area with a variety of food related
activities. |

DONATIONS will be accepted at the door to support Northumberland Food For Thought School Nutrition Programmes. Apples were purchased with the $727.50 in donations last year. Thank you to all who contributed to this worthwhile programme. |
