Kingston 13 June, 1814

Col. Coffin

Sir, I take the liberty to state to you that I was sent to Burlington in October last, with Twenty Government Boats and the Pay Master Mr. Richardson in making out the estimate, has neglected to put in the two days that my detachment were marching from Burlington to York and I wish that you would have the goodness to order the Pay Master to estimate for the two days, and I further wish to state that the service was performed in October last, and the detachment has not been paid off and the Militia men are very Uneasy that they are frequently called up on to perform new services and cannot get pay for their former service.

I am your very obedient Servant

Elias Jones Major
