Kawartha Lakes Spirit Walks

Curve Lake First Nation

Curve Lake is a small village with a population of 740 people, it is the home of the Mississauga Ojibway. It is located on a peninsula between Chemong Lake and Buckhorn Lake.

The community is modern with all the amenities of a small town, but our culture and language make us unique. You are welcome to come and visit our community to learn about the history of the settlement, our way of life as it is lived today.

The Curve Lake Cultural Centre is a central location showcasing our culture and way of life. See our collection of ash baskets hand crafted by local people, a wild rice gathering display, learn about smoke tan hide method or learn a song on the hand drum.

Local storytellers and resource people will share with you our extraordinary history, cultural teachings or learn more about our political system both local and National and explain the relation-ship and impact on the Canadian political system.
